Media Launches Full-on Trump Attack
The President confronted an angry reporting crew in the White House briefing room Thursday afternoon. The first question came from ABC’s Jon Karl who asked the President, “Why did you lie to the American people, and why should we trust what you have to say now?”
The President responded, “Such a terrible question and the phraseology. I didn’t lie,” Trump replied. “What I said is that we have to be calm.”
Karl cited Bob Woodward’s new book in which the President is blamed for failing to tell the American people what he knew, thanks to an early conversation in Feb with China’s Xi Jing Ping, about the true challenges of the virus.
The President insisted that Karl’s phrasing of the question, “is such a disgrace. It’s a disgrace to ABC television network. It’s a disgrace to your employer.” He further explained that he also believed it to be an issue but that he didn’t want to alarm the public by jumping up and down and saying, “People are going to die! People are going to die!”
