Health officials around the globe are sounding a new alarm.
On Monday, the World Health Organization warned that Europe could face an additional 236,000 deaths related to Covid-19 before December 1.
Dr. Anthony Fauci, meanwhile, warned of an additional 100,000 deaths in the U.S. during that time.
The European Union on Monday advised new travel restrictions for U.S. tourists in light of the ongoing pandemic.
Meanwhile, Fauci appeared on CNN on Monday to, once again, advise Americans to get the vaccine. He said the 100,000 deaths are predictable but preventable if people get the vaccine.
Fauci also said that mandating vaccines for schoolchildren is a “good idea (as soon as the proper authorizations have been granted. Thus far, the official Pfizer FDA approval is for people over the age of 16.) (Story continues below.)
“I believe that mandating vaccines for children to appear in school is a good idea,” he told CNN. “This is not something new. We have mandates in many paces in schools, particularly public schools.”
There are vaccination requirements for school children to guard against polio, measles, mumps, rubella and hepatitis.
