New York Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez she attacked efforts by some Republicans to ban “critical race theory” while appearing an interview on Tuesday evening. “Why don’t Republicans want us to learn how to not be racist? Why don’t Republicans want kids to know how to not be racist?” she asked.
AOC also accused Republicans of misusing the term, and stated that teachers should be fluent in “dismantling racism.” (Story continues below.)

The Representative also questioned why Republicans don’t want “kids to know how to not be racist.”

Recently, CRT is being used to describe any educational material which spreads dangerous and divisive ideas that claim that the U.S. or white people are inherently racist against non-whites.
More than 20 Republican-controlled states introduced legislation banning teaching that any group is “inherently responsible for any action committed in the past by any other member of the same sex, race, ethnicity, religion, color or national origin.”
