Battleground States Begin To Turn On Biden

A new poll of voters in key battleground states suggests Democrats have dropped in popularity amongst areas they need to win to keep the control of the federal government.

A recent poll from the Detroit Regional Chamber found that only 39% of residents approve of Biden’s job performance. Another survey from The Des Moines Register in Iowa found that only 31% of Iowans approve of Biden’s job as president.

“Every vulnerable Democrat will be forced to answer for their unwavering support of a deeply unpopular president,” said National Republican Congressional Committee Spokesman Mike Berg.

Another poll in Virginia found 51% of voters disapprove of Biden’s job performance. The Saint Anselm College Survey Center reports that 55% of New Hampshire residents disapprove of Biden’s work so far.

The major dip in popularity comes after a series of controversial decisions from the president. Biden’s approval ratings first took a hit when his withdrawal of U.S. troops from Afghanistan left dozens dead and the country in control of the Taliban. Americans left stranded in the country and an airstrike that killed several children have also been sources of criticism for Biden.

Convention of States Action found that roughly 70% of Americans disapprove of Biden’s handling of the withdrawal.

“There is absolutely no question that the American people are not buying the lies on Afghanistan. This is Saigon, and it’s far worse. Our nation has watched the same group of leaders in Washington DC flounder and blunder on foreign policy, on COVID-19, on the border, and on the economy,” said Mark Meckler, President of Convention of States Action. “After spending more than $1 trillion dollars and enduring wounded and dead soldiers, we are confronted with a basecamp for terror, a foreign policy nightmare, and are now less safe here at home. Time for new leadership.”

Another pain point for Biden has been the vaccine mandate which requires government contractors, federal employees and workers at companies with more than 100 employees to be vaccinated.

Convention of States Action released polling earlier this month showing that 58.6% of Americans “do not believe President Biden has the constitutional authority to force private businesses to require vaccine mandates for employees.”
