President Joe cBiden nominated Tracy Stone-Manning to lead the Bureau of Land Management. ritics say she has a history of “eco-terrorism.” (Story continues below video.)
Power the Future, a group that specializes in these issues, expressed their opposition to the nominee.
“Stone-Manning was involved with the eco-terrorist group “Earth First!” while at graduate school at the University of Montana,” Power the Future said.
“In 2002, Earth First! was labeled a ‘radical group’ by the FBI, and gave rise to the Earth Liberation Front (ELF), which was described as a ‘serious terrorist threat’ by the FBI in the early 2000s. You can see why Biden’s pick to run BLM is questionable considering her deep ties to Earth First!, an organization with extensive connections to ecological terrorist movements all over the world.”
Several Senate Republicans announced their opposition to the nominee, a bad sign for Biden’s choice.
“Tracy Stone-Manning collaborated with eco-terrorists who had booby trapped trees with metal spikes,” said Sen. John Barrasso, R-Wyo. “She mailed the threatening letter for them and she was part of the cover up. She did not cooperate with investigators until she was caught. Tracy Stone-Manning lied to the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee by claiming the tree spiking was ‘alleged’ and that she was never investigated. Now, we have confirmation that neither of those things are true. President Biden must withdraw her nomination.”
Power the Future also called her actions “criminal.”
“Even former President Barack Obama’s BLM director, Bob Abbey, retracted his endorsement of Stone-Manning’s nomination after her domestic terrorist past came to light,” Power the Future said. “Abbey stated, ‘The fact that she stood by and allowed this criminal action to take place could have resulted in critical injuries or worse to career public servants who were just performing their duties.'”
The group went on to pressure the Biden administration:
“The Biden White House so far is sticking by the nominee,” the group said. “This raises even more alarms around this administration and their support of left-wing extremism – and now domestic terror. We hope the Biden White House comes to their senses and withdraws her nomination, rightfully denouncing eco-terrorism rather than rewarding it.”
