The latest polling data shows President Joe Biden, fresh off a string of losses in 2021, has hit a new low in the poll.
RealClearPolitics, which aggregates several political polls, has Biden’s popularity at a new low. Their average has Biden’s job approval at below 41% with disapproval at 55%.
At the same time, Americans are more worried about issues like COVID and the economy and have less confidence in Biden’s ability to handle them.
Gallup released polling data Thursday showing that 58% of those surveyed say COVID is getting worse. Biden had better approval ratings on his COVID-19 response last year, but now Quinnipiac has him at only 39% approval for his handling of the pandemic, with 55% disapproving.
“The hopefulness Americans felt last spring after the rollout of the COVID-19 vaccines was first dashed over the summer by the delta variant, then recovered briefly as cases subsided, and is now being crushed by omicron,” Gallup said. “Along with the 20% of U.S. adults who currently say the pandemic is improving, 22% think it is staying the same and 58% believe it is worsening.”
