“I’m here LIVE. I’m not a cat.”
Those may be some of the funniest words ever said on a zoom call which exploded virally on the internet Tuesday.
A Texas lawyer can be heard telling a judge over the zoom exchange that his assistant is trying to fix the problem, which the judge identified as a filter issue.
Apparently, the attorney called into the meeting with a cat filter on his camera… and the rest is now internet history.
The judge trying to navigate the kitty faux pas was Judge Roy Ferguson of the 394th Judicial District Court, who tweeted out the clip with some advice.
“IMPORTANT ZOOM TIP: If a child used your computer, before you join a virtual hearing check the Zoom Video Options to be sure filters are off. This kitten just made a formal announcement on a case in the 394th.”
The clip begins with the attorney rendered as a cat, and the judge trying to troubleshoot the issue and help the kitty removes his filter.
“I don’t know how to remove it. I’ve got my assistant here, she’s trying to.”
Meanwhile, he was willing to proceed with the case – regardless of how he appeared!
“I’m prepared to go forward with it,” he said. “I’m here live. I’m not a cat.”
Now, that’s dedication to the law.
The moment was especially appreciated on social media today, just as the impeachment trial kicked off. Multiple social media users suggesting that the “cat lawyer” was so much better to watch.
I mean, after all, who can beat a cat?
This is just one you need to see.
