Elon Musk has been in a feud with Democrats over his tax liability, but now he has revealed how much he actually pays in taxes.
The entrepreneur said on Twitter he will pay $11 billion in taxes.
“For those wondering, I will pay over $11 billion in taxes this year,” he wrote.
The news came after Democrats have been repeatedly calling him out, arguing he should be paying more in taxes.
The fighting began when Sen. Warren tweeted about Musk, who was recently named Time Magazine’s “Person of the Year.”
Musk fired back at her online, including a link to an Onion article mocking Warren’s false claims about Native American heritage.
“Stop projecting,” Musk wrote. “You remind me of when I was a kid and my friend’s angry Mom would just randomly yell at everyone for no reason. Please don’t call the manager on me, Senator Karen.”
Reid jumped into the fray, calling Musk misogynistic for his comments and accused him of appropriating black culture.
“Going after Elon Musk, because somehow, you know, it’s just never enough, it’s never enough with these people,” Trish Regan said on her podcast. “He is is phenomenal in that he has created an entire industry around and by the way, exactly what they want, right? Green energy. And yet it’s never enough.”
Musk responded to Reid’s comments on Twitter.
“(Lack of) Joy Reid is a lobbyist for Sen Karen,” he wrote.
Musk also left a comment in defense of his tax bill.
“And if you opened your eyes for 2 seconds, you would realize I will pay more taxes than any American in history this year,” he wrote.
