FBI Ridiculed For Seizing LEGO Set In Capitol Protest Investigation

Federal investigators were ridiculed for seizing a LEGO set as evidence against one of the alleged organizers of the Capitol protests.

Robert Morss, 27, is accused of directing other “rioters” in clashes with the Capitol Police. Morss, a former army ranger, had a fully constructed LEGO that represented the Capitol building at his home.

Court records show that the FBI seized the Capitol Building LEGO set as evidence, among other items from the suspect’s home.

“During his arrest, law enforcement recovered some clothing and other items that appear to match those he carried with him on the 6th – including a ‘Don’t Tread on Me’ flag, a neck gaiter, a military utility bag, a black tourniquet, and military fatigues”

The public was quick to point out the absurdity of the FBI’s find. It’s not clear how a LEGO set of the Capitol Building could be used as evidence in the trial.

A Christian satirical site Babylonbee wrote that “LEGO evidence” led FBI investigators to believe Morss “was planning a similar attack on Hogwarts Castle.”

Twitter users posted LEGO versions of the January 6th events at the Capitol.

One user posted a LEGO version of Donald Trump:

One user posted an image of another “likely suspect.”

Some users warned federal agents not to “tread” on LEGOs. Others said that the FBI will have to pry their LEGOs from their “cold, dead hands.”
