New applications to the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program were halted by a federal judge in Texas on Friday.
The judge concluded that former President Barack Obama did not have the legal authority to prevent undocumented children from being deported.
The Texas federal judge says he believes DACA violates the federal Administration Procedure Act. Read the entire ruling here.
Under Obama, the DACA program began in 2012. President Trump attempted to disband it, but the Supreme Court refused to hear the case at that time.
The ruling orders the Biden Administration to stop approving DACA applications immediately.
