French President Emmanuel Macron announced Monday that France will require vaccines for anyone hoping to circulate in public beginning as early as this August.
France will require the EU Digital Covid Certificate, a QR code — referred to as a “health pass” — in all cultural venues, including cinemas, theaters and concert halls starting on July 21. Beginning in August, the health pass will be mandatory in cafes, shops, restaurants, as well as trains and planes, among other places.
The pass was launched on July 1 as a way to help people travel throughout Europe without getting multiple tests.
