Virginia’s Republican Gov. Glenn Youngkin has gotten a major response for his CNN interview, in particular his answer on clean energy and transgender issues.
In the interview, Jake Tapper asked Youngkin about climate change and renewable energy.
This NEEDS to be the conservative answer to America’s question around energy production.@GlennYoungkin gets it exactly right.

GLENN YOUNGKIN: We are investing in nuclear power.
JAKE TAPPER: With climate change and all the insecurity from OPEC, Putin and so on shouldn't you be prioritizing green energy?
🤦♂️🤦♂️ Nuclear power IS green energy!

Tapper also pressed Youngkin on the transgender bathrooms policies that Youngkin has put in place requiring students to use the bathroom of their sex assigned at birth.
“Let me begin with these basic principles,” Youngkin said. “First, parents have a fundamental right to be engaged in their children’s lives and, oh by the way, children have a right to have parents engaged in their life. And we needed to fix a wrong. The previous administration had a policy that excluded parents and in fact, typically didn’t require the involvement of parents. Let’s be clear, and children don’t belong to the state. They belong to families…”
“This is not controversial.”
