Inflation has soared since President Joe Biden took office, and now Americans say they are feeling the pain.
Rasmussen Reports released new polling showing that the vast majority of Americans are seeing grocery store bills skyrocket.
Inflation is hitting hard at the grocery store, as more Americans say rising food prices have caused them to change the way they eat,” the group said.
Rasmussen’s poll found that only nine percent of those surveyed say their bill hasn’t gone up.
“The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 87% of American Adults say they’re paying more for groceries now than they were a year ago, an increase from 83% last October,” Rasmussen said. “Only nine percent (9%) now say they aren’t paying more for groceries.”
This poll comes after inflation data has shown the fastest price increases in decades. The Bureau of Economic Analysis released data Friday showing another jump in prices.
“The PCE price index for March increased 6.6 percent from one year ago, reflecting increases in both goods and services…” the BEA said. “Energy prices increased 33.9 percent while food prices increased 9.2 percent. Excluding food and energy, the PCE price index for March increased 5.2 percent from one year ago.”
