Former governor of Arkansas Mike Huckabee blasted Joe Biden’s proposed budget comparing it to a Santa Claus wishlist catalogue “free everything.”
President Joe Biden will seek $6 trillion in U.S. federal spending for the 2022 fiscal year, rising to $8.2 trillion by 2031, the New York Times reported on Thursday.
“What jumps out at me is the fact that this is the best day of my life because this budget comes directly from the north pole,” said Huckabee on “Fox and Friends” on Saturday. “Santa Claus has come to town and it isn’t even December yet. I can’t tell you how excited I am. It’s like going through the catalog and saying I want one of everything and by golly I get it this is just terrific for people.”
“If you love government and you really think that the government will spend your paycheck better than you will, and if you honestly believe that government will not only spend your paycheck but that they will do it so much for efficiently and effectively than you could ever spend your own money, what’s not to love because this is in essence the everything I have ever wanted budget,” said the former candidate for President.
“Free everything. And it’s a 25% increase in spending. I don’t know how many Americans are spending more than 25% than they spent last year. But I bet it’s not that many. But now the government is going to do it for you.”
