Jen Psaki Finally Discusses Biden’s Jussie Smollett Tweet – Blames Trump

The Biden administration has taken a lot of flak for their support of Actor Jussie Smollett in his fake hate crime, but now White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki has spoken out on the matter.

“We respect the jury’s decision,” she said, referring to Smollett’s recent conviction. “Lying to the police, particularly about something as painful as hate crimes is shameful.”

“You know, look back at the time,” she added. “It’s also true and important to note that accusations of hate crimes should be taken seriously and they need to be fully investigated, but that’s where everybody was looking at it at the time.”

She also threw a shot at former president Donald Trump.

“There are lessons learned perhaps for everybody who commented at the time, including former President Trump,” she said, pointing out he condemned the attacks as well.

Actor Jussie Smollett received a flood of praise, and chides about white nationalism, following his hoax hate crime in Chicago. However, after the hate crime was exposed as fake, politicians and media elites who chided the rest of America have kept quiet.

“So we’re seeing the reaction from leftist politicians to Kyle Rittenhouse versus Jussie Smollett,” Trish Regan said on her podcast recently. “The mainstream media was all over it, and our politicians were all over it, and they just immediately believed it. I tend to stand back on some of these cases because I have respect for our court system, and I like to wait and see and hear what the jury has to say. And what we found out in this case is what we all were learning along the way. Jussie Smollett was a fraud and made the entire thing up just for publicity. You would think that politicians, people running for the president of the United States of America might have enough common sense to actually stand back when this originally happened. And think about it instead of going in right out there over their skis.”

After the news of Smollet’s hoax first broke, President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, and others spoke up on Twitter.

Biden: What happened today to @JussieSmollett must never be tolerated in this country. We must stand up and demand that we no longer give this hate safe harbor; that homophobia and racism have no place on our streets or in our hearts. We are with you, Jussie

Harris: [email protected] is one of the kindest, most gentle human beings I know. I’m praying for his quick recovery. This was an attempted modern day lynching. No one should have to fear for their life because of their sexuality or color of their skin. We must confront this hate.

Now, the administration is dealing with the consequences of those comments.
