“The pandemic is now killing more than 2,000 people per day, a 65% increase in just the past 30 days, and the most effective way to keep our people safe, is to make sure they’re vaccinated,” United Airlines told its employees.

The news comes amid new polling data showing that the majority of Americans do not support people losing their jobs for refusing to submit to the mandate.

“Washington, DC is making it clear the mandates are not about immunity but about conformity. As our own government continues to release conflicting info about the effectiveness of vaccines and the benefit of natural immunity, more and more Americans are standing up against the forced vaccination of American workers,” said Mark Meckler, President of Convention of States Action. “The message here is clear: your livelihood should not be put at risk because you don’t want the vaccine.”

Meanwhile, though Republicans and Independents agree that Americans should not lose their job over the mandate, Democrats do not, according to the poll.

From the poll:

  • 65% of voters do not believe Americans should lose their jobs if they object to taking the COVID-19 vaccine, while 22.2% believe they should, and 12.8% aren’t sure.
  • 63.6% of Independent voters do not believe Americans should lose their jobs if they object to taking the COVID-19 vaccine, while 15.5% believe they should, and 20.9% aren’t sure.
  • 83.5% of Republican voters do not believe Americans should lose their jobs if they object to taking the COVID-19 vaccine, while 9.7% believe they should, and 6.8% aren’t sure.
  • 47.9% of Democrat voters do not believe Americans should lose their jobs if they object to taking the COVID-19 vaccine, while 38.4% believe they should, and 13.7% aren’t sure.

The vaccines have proven to be highly effective in preventing and fighting Covid and experts agree are critical in preventing death from the virus. As present, an estimated 55% of American adults are vaccinated, and the hope is that 60-80% of all adults will be vaccinated by end of year.
