Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell blocked passage of $2,000 COVID-19 stimulus checks on Tuesday.
At present, it is unclear whether McConnell will allow a floor vote on the bill.
The President had requested an increase in stimulus checks from $600 to $2000 last week as part of a contingency to sign off on lawmakers’ $2.3 trillion spending package.
