While the rest of America worries about new vaccine requirements, mask mandates, and economic shutdowns from the delta variant of COVID, one former Democrat President doesn’t seem as concerned.
While his party pushes what critics deem ‘authoritarian’ regulations on the rest of the country, former President Barack Obama is reportedly having 700 total in attendance, including staff and guests.
“It’s going to be big,” one source told The Hill.
Likely, the former President doesn’t want to answer questions about accusations of hypocrisy.
Of course, conservatives on Twitter were not happy with the news. (Story continues below.)
“I’ll never forget the packed church for John Lewis at the height of the pandemic while I wasn’t able to have friends and family attend my wife’s funeral,” wrote Matthew Kolken. “The ruling class NEVER plays by the rules that only apply to the little people.”
The theme of a double standard for the ruling class particularly upset regular Americans.
“Let me get this straight,” said Jordan Rachel, Commentator for Talking Points USA. “You couldn’t say goodbye to your dying loved ones, but Barack Obama can have a party with 700 people at his estate in Martha’s Vineyard?”
Obama has not yet responded to media inquiries on the party. (Story continues below.)
Republicans took time to criticize Obama.
“Does Biden have any comment on Obama throwing a massive birthday bash as he pushes for more COVID restrictions?” wrote Ronna McDaniel, chair of the Republican National Committee. “Or is there an exception for parties attended by rich liberal celebrities?”
