A new poll released today suggests Americans are more concerned about the economy than any other issue, even the spread of the Delta variant.
According to the Ipsos survey released today, 22% of Americans believe “economy, jobs, unemployment” is the biggest issue right now. Just 13% said “public health, disease, illness” with 12% expressing concern about “immigration.”
The economy is a concern amongst both parties, as well as independents. 29% of independents says it’s a concern, 27% of Republicans and 16% of Democrats. 16% of Democrats also chose public health as a concern.
The Dow ended Friday slightly lower amid growing concerns about inflation in the U.S. economy and a highly disappointing jobs report in which less than half the expected number of jobs were actually created in the latest month.
