President Joe Biden’s polling has plummeted in recent months, and now much of his own party doubts his hopes of winning re-election.
Rasmussen released new polling showing only a fraction of Americans think Biden can win again. Meanwhile, Biden’s rolling job approval rating with CIVIQS has dropped to 35%, a major low.
“Voter confidence in President Joe Biden’s ability to do the job remains low and most don’t expect a second term for the oldest president in U.S. history,” Rasmussen said.
The poor numbers come amidst a struggling economy, rising COVID cases, and the recent deadly and chaotic withdrawal of U.S. forces from Afghanistan.
“A new national telephone and online survey by Rasmussen Reports finds that only 28% of likely U.S. voters believe it is likely Biden will be reelected if he seeks another term in 2024,” Rasmussen said. “Thirty-eight percent (38%) think Biden would lose to a Republican candidate in 2024, while 21% say it’s more likely Biden will resign before completing his full term in office. Another 15% are not sure.”
