Rasmussen Reports released new polling data showing that, aside from generally having higher approval numbers, Republicans are beating Democrats in voter enthusiasm.

“Less than six months away from the congressional midterms, Republicans are more fired up than Democrats about voting this November,” the group said.

Enthusiasm is a key area to measure for pollsters because it helps campaigns see how many of their supporters will actually show up at the polls on election day.

“A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 76% of Likely U.S. voters are excited to vote in the midterm elections, including 49% who are Very Excited,” Rasmussen said. “Twenty-one percent (21%) aren’t excited about voting in November.”

According to Rasmussen, here is how that enthusiasm breaks down by political affiliation:

Republicans – 85%
Democrats – 78%
Independents – 63%

“Democrats’ inflation crisis is here to stay and voters are fed up,” said National Republican Congressional Committee Spokesman Mike Berg.
