Fox News released its poll this week which found that Republicans are more trusted on several issues, including “inflation (R+19 points), border security (R+19), crime (R+13), and foreign policy (R+8).”

The poll also found that Independents trust Republicans more on inflation by a 30 point margin.

That is particularly important because inflation is at the highest level in decades, and is top of mind for American voters.

The recently released producer price index federal data showed a 10.8% increase in that index. Consumer prices, meanwhile, have risen at the fastest rate in four decades.

FiveThirtyEight released polling data showing that in fact inflation is Americans’ number one concern.

“At this point, the answer to what Americans are most worried about is pretty straightforward: inflation. In the first FiveThirtyEight/Ipsos poll, 52 percent of Americans said the most important issue facing the country was inflation,” the group said. “We asked Americans this question in a variety of ways, but regardless of how we asked it, the top answer was always the same: inflation.”
