Apple’s new “pregnant man” emoji is raising eyebrows. The world’s largest company will add a “pregnant man” emoji to all of its devices.
Apple is updating its emoji rooster with the latest 15.4 beta update for iOS devices. The one that attracted the most attention is the “pregnant man” emoji.
According to Emojipedia, these can be used “for representation by trans men, non-binary people, or women with short hair.”
Like for other emojis, users will be able to change their skin color by holding a click over them. The emojis will come in all skin colors, from white to black, including the default cartoonish yellow.
Political figures and commentators on the right, including some moderates, called the emoji ridiculous.

Most referenced the fact that biological men just cannot become pregnant.
100 years from now our great grandkids will look back on the pregnant man emoji phase of America as one of the dumbest, most ridiculous and non-scientific periods of human history. pic.twitter.com/xenW11KtlV

Even Donald Trump Jr. joked about the move, saying that CNN’s Brian Stelter was behind the emoji. Stelter is a vocal Trump critic.
I believe we found the root cause of and model for the pregnant man emoji. You guessed it folks CNN’s Brian Stelter. pic.twitter.com/T3daOvsQKr

Apple’s move comes amid the left’s push to define masculinity and femininity in terms of gender identity rather than biological sex.
