“Governor Cuomo, the secretary to the governor, and his senior team must be prosecuted immediately – both by the attorney general of New York state and the U.S. Department of Justice,” Republican Representative Elise Stefanik said in a written statement on Thursday after the bombshell report on New York post revealed that alleging that a top Cuomo aide apologized to political damage Democrats suffered over the coronavirus’ nursing home death toll by appearing to blame the delayed release of data, in part, on the Trump administration.
Gov. Cuomo’s secretary told New York lawmakers in a recent meeting that the state authorities were concerned about a Department of Justice preliminary inquiry into Covid-19 deaths in New York nursing homes, as well as “attention from former President Donald Trump, who was tweeting about Cuomo and other Democratic governors’ handling of the nursing homes.”
“This bombshell admission of a cover-up and the remarks by the secretary to the governor indicating intent to obstruct any federal investigation is a stunning and criminal abuse of power,” continued Stefanik.
