New polling data previewing the November elections has Democrats scared.
Convention of States Action, in conjunction with Trafalgar Group, released polling data which showed that Republicans around the country have a major advantage over Democrats. The poll reports that Republican candidates hold a 13 point lead over Democrats among surveyed voters.
According to the poll, “54.4 percent of American voters prefer Republican candidates in the midterm elections.” Meanwhile, “41.9 percent of American voters prefer Democratic candidates in the midterm elections.”
The vast majority of Americans also said they believe Republicans will fulfill their agenda if elected in November.
“It’s clear from this data that Republicans remain far ahead in this race, and if they win, voters believe they will deliver. However, these numbers also spell danger for Republicans. GOP leadership has not laid out clearly what they would do if they are elected, and voters feel very strongly about action being taken on issues from law and order to the border to inflation and the economy,” said Mark Meckler, President of Convention of States Action. “If voters get wind that their priorities are not being taken seriously, and lose confidence in Republicans to deliver, these numbers could shift dramatically.”
The poll also found voters prioritize law and order issues as violent crime continues to rise and illegal immigration soars.
According to the poll, “80.1 percent of American voters believe that police departments can be fully funded, prosecutors tough on crime, and officers who abuse their power are properly disciplined.” Pollsters also report that “67.3 percent believe that the southern border should be secured and illegal border crossers returned to their country of origin.”
