In a letter to President Biden Tuesday evening, Republican Senator Marco Rubio of Florida demanded the President fire his Joint Chiefs of Staff. The request comes amid allegations that General Milley told the Chinese he would alert them to any impending attack by America following the Capitol Hill riot on January 6.
According to Rubio, “These actions by General Milley demonstrate a clear lack of sound judgement, and I urge you to dismiss him immediately.
The Chinese and General Milley were reportedly worried that then President Trump might “go rogue” and attempt to use force against the Chinese. Bob Woodward reported in his new book that Milley allegedly told the Chinese not to worry and that if such an attack were to happen, he’d make sure they knew about it. “You and I have known each other for five years. If we’re going to attack, I’m going to call you ahead of time. It’s not going to be a surprise,” Milley was reported to have told his Chinese counterpart.
Republicans including Rand Paul and Marco Rubio are furious. If true, they say, it represents a break in the chain of command. Donald Trump, for his part, released a statement on Tuesday evening referring to Milley as a dumb a**.
Per Former President Donald Trump: If the story of “Dumbass” General Mark Milley, the same failed leader who engineered the worst withdrawal from a country, Afghanistan, in U.S. history, leaving behind many dead and wounded soldiers, many American citizens, and $85 Billion worth of the newest and most sophisticated Military equipment in the world, and our Country’s reputation, is true, then I assume he would be tried for TREASON in that he would have been dealing with his Chinese counterpart behind the President’s back and telling China that he would be giving them notification “of an attack.”
