Senator Rand Paul stated that he will make a criminal referral against Dr. Anthony Fauci for allegedly “lying” to Congress about the U.S. funding of the controversial Wuhan lab.
Kentucky Senator Rand Paul stated that he will be sending a letter to the U.S. Department of Justice asking for a criminal referral against the NIAID director Anthony Fauci.
Paul accused Fauci of lying to Congress when he stated that he did not fund “gain of function” research in Wuhan. Lying to Congress is a criminal offense.
“…they were doing very dangerous research there, taking animal viruses and making them more transmissible to humans,” Paul told Sean Hannity of Fox News Tuesday evening.
The Wuhan Institute of Virology received nearly $600,000 in funds that came from the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The Wuhan lab has since been identified as a possible cause of the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.
“If this came from the lab he was funded, can you imagine the moral culpability this man has,” Paul stated.
Fauci has fervently denied that the NIH funded the gain-of-function research in the Wuhan lab.
Earlier, Senator Rand Paul told Dr. Fauci that “there will be a responsibility for those who funded the lab, including yourself.”
