Minneapolis saw its third night of chaos as thousands protested the death of the 20-year-old black man Daunte Wright, allegedly shot by a police officer who mistook her gun for a taser. Crowds of protesters chanted slogans like “no justice, no peace”, as they marched towards the Brooklyn Center Police Department.

Police and protesters faced off again after nightfall, with hundreds gathered at the Brooklyn Center police headquarters which is now protected by concrete barriers and a tall metal fence, as well as where police in riot gear and the National Guard.
Police shot impact munition at the rioters, deploying armored vehicles to the scene.

One protester was filmed saying “get the white people at the front”, and “white allies at the front”, presumably to make up for their supposed white privilege.

Riots were, as in previous days, accompanied by looting. Companies that donated to BLM were also attacked, as one Twitter user pointed out.
