We have had warning sign after warning sign, and now Trish Regan is explaining on her podcast how we could be headed toward a recession.
“Are we heading for a recession?” she asked on her podcast. “These numbers from the Commerce Department, they don’t look very good. GDP declining 1.4% in the first quarter of the year. You get two quarters of that, and you are in recession.”
As Trish Regan made the comments, the Bureau of Economic Analysis released data Friday showing another jump in prices. This is the latest in a series of economic data points showing soaring inflation.
“The PCE price index for March increased 6.6 percent from one year ago, reflecting increases in both goods and services…” the BEA said. “Energy prices increased 33.9 percent while food prices increased 9.2 percent. Excluding food and energy, the PCE price index for March increased 5.2 percent from one year ago.”
