The U.S. border is on the verge of potentially experiencing a surge of illegal immigrants, and Trish Regan is breaking it all down on her podcast.
Trish’s comments come after the U.S. Supreme Court temporarily halted the expiration of Title 42, a Trump-era policy that allowed border patrol to expel illegal immigrants more quickly because of concerns over COVID-19 entering the country.
That policy was set to expire Wednesday before the Supreme Court intervened, leaving the nation awaiting their decision.
“The highest numbers [of illegal immigration] we have ever seen since Joe Biden became president,” Trish Regan said. “Can we really handle more of that? The reality is no, and so now you’ve got the Supreme Court saying let’s revisit it another day.”
Finish the story after this video:
The Biden administration has pushed for an end to Title 42, but Republicans want to keep it in place to help slow the flood of illegal immigration across the southern border.
“The problem is we’ve created this perverse system where the only ones benefiting off all of this immigration seem to be these gangs that charge big bucks to get everyone across the border,” Trish Regan said. “So by having this really messed up system, we are creating bad incentives for bad people. That has to get fixed, but again, talking about kicking the can down the road, nobody wants to fix it. Nobody.”
