Trish: Stocks Set To Open Lower Amid Fresh Fears Of Lockdowns

U.S. stock futures suggested the market would open in the red on Tuesday as investors feared governments around the world will soon impose more lockdowns to fight the pandemic. Gold rose for the fifth day in a row as investors sought a safe haven.

Investors will be watching a virtual town hall meeting on Tuesday, featuring Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell as a speaker. The markets are still looking for clues about when and if the Fed will begin its tapering process. 

Elsewhere, retail sales came in worse-than-expected for the month of July — declining 1.1.% versus the anticipated 0.3% drop. (Story continues below.)

A healthcare device company NanoVibronix reported favorable earnings results for the second quarter of 2021. The company’s revenue increased 18% to $318,000. The stocks recently moved up as the company launched an innovative pain-management device PainShield. 

S0ftware company and crypto-miner Powerbridge released new updates on its crypto mining deals. The company has announced it will enter into a partnership with Cryptodigital Holdings to acquire Bitcoin and Ethereum mining services. 

Fintech company LM Funding America reported its earnings results for the three and six months ended June 30, 2021. The company reported $11.1 million in Q2 earnings. Its cash position increased to $22.2 million from $11.6 million in December 2020.
