Immigrants are coming to border by the thousands, overwhelming a fragile system that is totally unprepared for these mass numbers. It’s the most number of people in twenty years, according to the Department of Homeland Security. And, thousands of children are being held in overcrowded government facilities and the Biden Administration is unable to manage the crisis. A new report even alleges that border patrol is releasing asylum seekers into the U.S. without court dates.
Why the mass increase?
It seems President Joe Biden is the reason.
In a television report from the U.S.-Mexico border Sunday, ABC News reporter Martha Raddatz conducted an interview with an unidentified asylum seeker who was crossing illegally from Mexico into the United States.
The man said the change in the administration from Trump to Biden was a motivation in his crossing.
“Would you have tried to do this when Donald Trump was President?” Raddatz asked.
“Definitely not. Definitely. We have a chance, you know. The same environment that’s been going on today wasn’t there last year,” he answered. “We used to watch the news and I definitely wouldn’t do this.”
Raddatz responded, “So did you come here because Joe Biden was elected president?”
“Basically,” he said. “The main thing was violence in my country. And the second thing, I think, was Joe Biden.”

Since Biden’s win in November, an increase in the number of undocumented immigrants illegally crossing the border has been reported. Biden’s promise to no longer deport illegal crossers is seen is seen as one of the main reasons for the increase.
The Department of Homeland Security head says that levels are at their highest in 20 years, but blames the Trump administration. Others point to the liberal policies being expressed by the Biden team and suggest that there is far less of a deterrent under Biden and a much bigger incentive to be here.
Unfortunately, these promises made by Biden have come with consequences. Many Latin and Central American families are sending their unaccompanied children to the U.S. in hopes that the federal government will provide the children a path to citizenship. As of late last week, there were more than 14,000 children being held in overcrowded facilities as Border Patrol and Health and Human Services struggled to manage the massive influx.
Meanwhile, according to a report out Sunday, the Biden Administration is releasing asylum seekers into the U.S. without court dates.
The reality is this: the Biden Administration was not prepared for this crisis. The United States does not have the infrastructure nor the personnel in place to process the thousands of people that are coming to the border.
How many people are being put in harms way on BOTH sides of the border because Joe Biden thought it sounded good to extend an open invite? It’s a question states are now asking.
In Texas, lawmakers are demanding a solution. Meanwhile, the attorney general in Florida is suing the Biden Administration for policies that Florida argues are putting Floridians in danger. No administration in recent history, not even Obama’s, have had such liberal rules on the deportation of criminals with drug and robbery charges.
Immigrants are an important part of this nation and must continue to come here — but, we need a better system. We cannot continue like this. Our border is in a full-fledged crisis mode whether the Biden Administration is willing to admit the reality of the situation or not.
America’s patience is running out.
