Trish’s Market Notes: Stocks Rebound As Traders Turn Focus Away From Pandemic

U.S. stock futures rose in premarket trading Wednesday as earnings data took focus away from rising global coronavirus cases. Thus far, the S&P 500 has all but erased Monday’s losses.

Cyclical stocks are leading the rally, while the tech-heavy Nasdaq index has fluctuated.

Stocks To Watch

Chembio Diagnostics received a $28.3 million purchase order from Bio-Manguinhos for its coronavirus antigen tests. Bio-Manguinhos is a subsidiary of Oswaldo Cruz Foundation, a Brazilian public biological research foundation.

NeuroMetrix extended its gains after surging more than 200% during Tuesday’s regular trading hours. The surge came after the U.S. Food and Drug Administration designated the company’s wearable neurostimulation device Quell as a “Breakthrough Therapy” for treating fibromyalgia.

Lexaria Bioscience announced positive results of a study on its DehydraTECH drug delivery system. The trials showed that DehydraTECH improved the delivery of colchicine, a drug with SARS-CoV-2 antiviral properties.
