Watch: Protests Erupt Across Nation, Protestors Throw Red Paint on NYC Statues

Six people were arrested in Columbus Circle, near the New York Central Park, as protesters gathered in the square, defacing monuments with anti-police graffiti, police said.

A crowd gathered at Columbus Circle in protest of the shooting of a 16-year-old Ma’Khia Bryant, who was shot by the police officer after apparently attempting to stab another woman with a knife. The protestors defaced the USS Maine National Monument at a gateway to Central Park.

Meanwhile, the police presence was heavy in Albany, NY, where 8 people were arrested in protests on Tuesday night.

Peaceful protest also erupted in Ohio as hundreds of students occupied the student union at Ohio state.

In Portland, police have reported people damaging property downtown Portland, warning vandals that they will be arrested.
